Quality of Life in Lithuania is Constantly Improving

The Central Project Management Agency (CPVA) has reported a positive trend in the quality of life in Lithuanian municipalities. Between 2013 and 2021, many areas experienced growth in material living conditions, residents’ entrepreneurship, and competitiveness.

The Municipal Quality of Life Index (GKI) assesses various aspects, including material living conditions, health, education, demographics, civic activity, infrastructure, the living environment, and safety.

Notably, material living conditions improved the most, with an average growth of 138% in all municipalities. Residents’ entrepreneurship and competitiveness also saw a significant 98% increase. However, demographic changes caused a 10% decrease in the demographic and civic activity sub-index.

The CPVA suggests that these findings can empower both local governments and residents to work together in enhancing their communities and overall well-being.
