Nov, 23 day – Lithuania Marks 105th Anniversary with Armed Forces Parade

On November 23rd, Lithuania commemorates the 105th anniversary of re-establishing its armed forces in 1918, shortly before engaging in battles for independence. A celebratory parade on November 25th in Vilnius will feature over 1400 Lithuanian and NATO allied soldiers and showcase more than 100 military vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and air defense systems.

The event will conclude with the performance of “Kanonada,” a song created by Marijonas Mikutavičius for the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Public participation is encouraged through live broadcasts on LRT TELEVISION and viewing areas on both sides of Konstitucijos Avenue.

From November 13-21, soldiers will visit schools nationwide to introduce military life and share experiences. Similar celebrations will occur in other cities and at foreign military representations and international headquarters where Lithuanian soldiers serve.

Traffic restrictions will be in place from November 24th, 6:00 PM, to November 25th, 4:00 PM, on Konstitucijos Avenue, Lvivo, and Upės streets. Detailed information on traffic and public transportation changes is available on the Vilnius city municipality website.
